PM Modi inaugurates Mahakal Lok corridor at Mahakaleshwar temple

On Tuesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Mahakal Lok corridor, a 900-meter-long project constructed at the Mahakaleshwar temple. The total cost of the Mahakal Lok initiative is Rs 856 crore, with the initial phase developed at a cost of Rs 351 crore, as stated by an official. Accompanied by Madhya Pradesh Governor Mangu Bhai Patel and Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Modi extended greetings to the sadhus present at the venue.

Using a remote button, the Prime Minister unveiled a replica of the Shivling as a symbolic gesture, dedicating Mahakal Lok to the nation. The Mahakaleshwar Temple Corridor Development Project aims to enhance facilities for visitors to the temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva and housing one of the 12 Jyotirlingas in India.

Featuring 108 aesthetically adorned pillars crafted from intricately carved sandstones depicting Lord Shiva’s Anand Tandav Swaroop (dance form), the corridor also showcases 200 statues and murals of Lord Shiva and goddess Shakti. Before officially launching the corridor project, Modi participated in prayers at the temple.
